1. SAP®
   SAP as the central database ensures that no data inconsistencies arise in the various application areas. At the same time, the effort required for the data maintenance is reduced, since all data is maintained centrally and one time only in SAP. Complicated and expensive interfaces for comparison with external databases are no longer necessary.
   The print catalogues are recorded as product catalogues in SAP. In an XML data export, the catalogue and the product data including images data are exported.
   
2. CEM (Catalog Exchange Management)
   CEM is the heart of the movento print catalogue solution. CEM was developed specially by movento for the future processig for the XML data export. CEM takes over the data export from SAP and makes the data available in the format that Adobe InDesign requires. CEM has no database of its own; instead, it works completely with the data exported from SAP. The various catalogue formats are stored in CEM as XSLT templates and they can be adjusted easily here.
   
3. Adobe® InDesign®
   Adobe InDesign takes over the data from CEM and creates the finished print catalogue from it. If necessay, data and layout can be adjusted manually. The manual changes should be reduced to a minimum since they must be repeated if the catalogue is recreated.

With the components SAP, CEM it is easy and quick to create cost-effective print catalogues based on SAP data ( product catalogue, product stock, classification, MIME objects such as images, etc.)

For areas in which there is no Internet infrastructure on hand, it is possible to generate a fully-functional and installation-ready product catalogue via the movento CD-ROM generator. In addition to the cost saving, the timeless of data is also a decisive factor. Through the offline catalogue, you can produce new catalogues with current data easily and cost-effectively at short intervals. This way, you aviod having to give outdated catalogues to your customers for month.
